Are Affiliates the Buried Treasure of the Internet?

By: Paul Nichols
There is a prominent word reappearing like never before in internet marketing, and it’s about time you look into it. No internet marketing issue has generated more attentiveness than affiliate marketing. While this form of marketing has been around for years, it has not ever been more popular. If you have not already debated using affiliate marketing for your webpage, now may be the time. Otherwise, you could be missing out on a great way to help pull in additional income you never knew was out there. This article will provide a base understanding of what affiliate marketing is, as well as help you to realize the ways it can upgrade your organization.

What is affiliate marketing? Simply put, affiliate marketing is a synergetic relationship between two businesses. In this article, we are going to refer to each of them as the Advertiser and Publisher. The Advertiser pays the Publisher to place a link on their internet site, and the Publisher furnishes interested customers to the Advertiser in return. It is a simple way for each business to help the other become more successful.

How does affiliate marketing work? First, let us view our Advertiser. We will begin by creating a hypothetical company, Paper Unlimited. Paper Unlimited specializes in a unequalled new form of photo paper. They have a great product, and they must advertise it to get people to buy it. Paper Unlimited creates a webpage for people to learn more about their unequalled paper, place orders, and ask questions. Regrettably, they are having a hard time bringing people to their internet site. They have to advertise. That's when the Publisher enters the picture.

Camera Depot has been very profitable on the internet for years. Each week, tons of people turn to their site for their camera needs. Unfortunately, they know nothing about photo paper . Though they would like to help, when customers have paper questions they don't know what to do.

One day, Camera Depot is approached by a professional firm representing Paper Unlimited. The representative offers them a deal that if they provide a small advertising space for Paper Unlimited, they will pay Camera Depot for the customers which they channel to the Paper Unlimited internet site. Camera Depot decides to try it out.

Camera Depot is happy because they are providing an additional service to their clients, and are getting paid to do it. Paper Unlimited is happy because they are getting lots of targeted visitors to their web site each day that are shopping for what they are marketing.

Where should a organization start? Many advertisers will get hold of well known sites to request that they serve as their publisher. This method was successful enough at first, but as the internet has boomed, successful web sites have become flooded with advertisers who desire to affiliate with them. To avoid losing the effectiveness of their internet site, publishers will only grant a few directly related links to be placed on it. Many successful web sites have turned to marketing firms to assist them in locating the perfect content for their specific organization. Marketing firms are experts at matching businesses together.

What should a business look for in a Marketing Firm? The ultimate goal in using an affiliate marketing firm should be to increase the odds that your webpage gets the utmost return for your internet marketing efforts. Therefore, you should look for three main things: size, experience, and innovation.

A master marketing firm will have a prominent amount of publishers to select from. The greater the selection, the greater the the opportunity of making the perfect fit between advertiser and publisher. Before deciding on a firm, look at some of the companies they do business with. If you want traffic to your site, you will want a firm that offers affiliations with well known companies.

When you are exploring a firm, remember that experience may make a big difference. Go with a firm that knows what they are doing. The image of your company is too important to leave in the hands of someone who is going to do a poor job of marketing it. If you want professional results, go to a professional firm.

Last on the list of things to look for, ensure that the firm you are thinking about shows innovation. The world wide web is always growing. New techniques are continually being formulated to catch the attention of your potential customer. The firm which represents you needs to be able to stay caught up with tomorrows marketing advances in a way that boosts your webpage in a professional manner.

There is little doubt that the success rate within affiliate programs are expanding more and more, and numerous businesses are starting to see how valuable it is. Don’t make the same errors as many others have who rush in too quickly. When seeking for an affiliate firm, don't forget to ask yourself those three useful questions. Do they have a good choice of publishers, are they experienced, and are they showing innovation in what they do? Remember this advice and you are on the right path to finding the ‘buried treasure’ in your own website.

Affiliate Sales Programs - Why Making Money With Them Is So Easy

By: Jack Lowry
Affiliate sales programs offer, in my opinion, the best online business opportunities for people looking to make good money online, with virtually no risk and virtually no startup costs. Setting up a business or website to promote an affiliate sales program can even be free.

Many new businesspeople unfamiliar with affiliate sales programs may find it difficult to find the right product to promote, or which affiliate network to join. One of the better online affiliate sales programs is Clickbank. They focus exclusively on digital products, or informational products like e-books which can be downloaded directly to a customer's computer.

To get started, all you really need is a blog, which can be setup for free, or even just a simple website for your affiliate sales program that redirects traffic directly to the product owner's website. Below I would like to offer 5 tips on selecting an affiliate product from Clickbank to promote.

1. Go to the marketplace and decide upon a category that you might have particular knowledge about, or are just generally interested in.

2. Look at the products with the highest popularity in that particular affiliate sales program category.

3. Select a product with gravity between 60 and 100. This will mean that your product is new and popular. Anything lower than 60 will mean that is generally a product of low quality or with low demand. Anything above 100 will mean there is too much competition, meaning that the product might be saturated with affiliate sales program competitors.

4. Make sure the commission fee payout is $20 or more. Anything lower will be a waste of your time.

5. Check out the product website and make sure there is already tested sales material provided by the owner, such as sales graphics, e-mail copy and classified ads.

Affiliate Marketing Success - Reasons Why Affiliate Marketing Mentors Are So Important

By: zMillionDollars
Obviously, there are many reasons why you must have your own affiliate mentors to build your highly profitable successful home based affiliate business and make serious money online from home. Those affiliate mentors will look after you to minimize your mistakes and increase your make money business opportunities through your home based affiliate business.

Read This: If you are truly serious about how to become a highly successful affiliate marketing entrepreneur and make serious money online from home. You will discover why affiliate marketing mentors can help definitely you to boost skyrocket your affiliate commission online in this article.

The home based affiliate business has been in the Internet industry for quite sometime now and it is among the most popular tools used by many online entrepreneurs today. It is a great option for those who want to put up an online business quickly and cheaply. However, there is still a large number of the population who knows a little or even nothing about it. And most of the people who have just discovered this home based affiliate business usually assume that they can easily make big bucks out of it overnight. Well, they are definitely wrong!

To be successful in home based affiliate business is not an easy task and it will never happen overnight. It absolutely requires hard work and time. It is just like an ongoing assignment where you need to find out and try various advertising strategies and tactics. This may even require you to sign-up with numerous affiliate marketing partner programs just to determine which merchants performs well.

Another misconception that affiliate marketing entrepreneur has about this kind of home based affiliate business is that they expect to gain more if they place about 20 affiliated banners on just one niche. Well it will not really work the way you think it would because once your site is flooded with too many banners, it will look like a link farm and visitors will not be interested and will not even bother clicking on any of those banners. Thus, if you really want to promote several affiliate marketing partner programs in your website, you have to make sure that they jive with the theme and topic of the rest of the content on your niche. Also, you should bear in mind that three or four affiliated links in your site are enough, depending on the size of the web page.

There are also some affiliate marketing entrepreneurs who think that if they add affiliate materials to their site, they can receive sales right away. Maybe they just do not know that home based affiliate business is all about content-driven and advertising strategies. If there is no traffic coming to your website, how you can expect to get any sales right away. You have to remember that the more you advertise your affiliate link or the site where the affiliate links are placed, the more click through these links are likely to receive.

If you want to be involved or you have already joined an affiliate marketing partner program, but you have the above misconceptions regarding home based affiliate business, then, you might need a mentor to help you figure out where to start and what to do in order to succeed.

In the dictionary, the word mentor is defined as a wise and trusted teacher or counsellor. Usually, these persons are experts in the field they are into. They can give expert advice and guidance as well as supervision to another person. Thus, the home based affiliate business mentors are experienced counsellors that have made the affiliate marketing business their specialty. Those mentors can be those people who have already been successful in the home based affiliate business and are always willing to share their experienced-based knowledge from the viewpoint of both the affiliates and the web merchants. And that is the major reason why you should consider having your own mentors and this article is all about. It is aimed to give you the stuffs that affiliate mentors should possess and follow and why do they need these things.

Of course, it is great for an home based affiliate business mentor to know and apply some theories and generalities regarding your business but there is nothing more helpful and effective than telling the client what works today and what are the things that could probably work in the future and if the trend changes. As a mentor, you should be one of the sources of knowledge for your client and the first one to teach them on how to generate more affiliate income. Also, you need to be knowledgeable and equipped with the keys to success for affiliate marketers as well as for merchants. And you should guide your clients as they try to do the things that can help boost their profit because once they do well in that business, it can be counted as one of your great achievements. This also makes you a successful mentor.

Typically, there are some articles on home based affiliate business that says, in order to be triumphant in home based affiliate business, you need to encompass and develop these traits: persistence, patience and thirst for knowledge. And as a mentor, it is your job to help your clients take in these traits within themselves. Once they have already developed the above mentioned character, it will be very easy for you to explain to them that attaining success in home based affiliate business requires sweat, blood and of course, hefty time commitment. These traits will also teach them not to give up.

Furthermore, before you train your client to be proficient in search engine optimization, link exchanges, email marketing, newsletter marketing, reciprocal exchanges and advertising in forums, you should first become an expert on these fields. They will surely find it hard to learn these things alone and without supervision from the one who knows best. Thus, you should make sure that you are knowledgeable on these things before you accept any invitation to be a mentor. Obviously, being a mentor is way harder than succeeding in home based affiliate business but this task is very rewarding especially if your client become victorious. The failure of your client is your failure too so you must do your very best to be able to bring your client on the road to success. Again, it is never an easy task and there is nothing you can do about it. After all, that is for what the home based affiliate business mentors are.

Final thought, if you are an affiliate marketing entrepreneur, it is obvious that you should find high quality and reliable affiliate marketing mentors to help you to become a highly successful in affiliate marketing business. Those mentors are your shortcut for your success in the future. They are your secret of affiliate marketing success in long term. They will look after you carefully and minimize your mistakes. Otherwise, being a mentor is a great alternative way to prove that you are expert in the affiliate marketing business if you have your own experiences and profitable affiliate business.

Affiliate Marketers: Are You Using This Powerful Affiliate Marketing Tactic?

By: J Andrew Morrison
How can you differentiate yourself from all the other schmoes out there offering the exact same thing you are? There are many difficult tasks you face as an affiliate marketer but I am sure you will agree setting yourself apart from other affiliates sits near the top of your list.

Most of you rely on marketing skill and ad copy to stand out. Adjusting your PPC bids to bump your competition into oblivion is a daily occurrence. Slight of word redirection tricks are standard tools you use to guide that extra customer from your competition's camp. You sweat and toil to make your competitors ads disappear completely. What if it didn't have to be this hard and brutal?

Imagine being able to move in next to a successful campaign of your competitor and start funneling customers right out of their pot? Imagine sliding into a niche and immediately catapulting yourself to a top selling position? Well you can, and the secret is...

You need to know something before I share this with you. You need to have your own web space for this to work. I'm not talking about a web site, with lots of pages and navigation and consistent graphics and all the other things involved. You just need a place to put single pages and to put images for use in other "free" advertising venues.

And, if you think your own web space optional for your affiliate marketing endeavors you're wrong. You'll make some money without it but never excel. If 10 bucks per month is too much for you to invest in your business you should just stop. Go shmooz your boss or a head hunter and make more money at your day job. There is affordable web hosting. It's the web host choice of many marketers, including myself a 10 year web developer veteran. Without hosting won't be able to take advantage of many opportunities, including the one I'm sharing today.

So here it is, the tactic that will propel you past your competition.

Take advantage of offers from affiliate networks allowing you to offer incentives. Before you groan and moan thinking about the sites offering free iPods for trudging through a pages and pages and pages of offers with an endless parade of other offers and pestering your friends to do the same, that's not it. I feel your pain, and that's not what this technique is about.

In fact you will find this method to be more effective and easier than the head to head fight your accustomed to. You simply find an inexpensive service or product highly targeted at the audience of your affiliate campaign offer. As an example, if you are promoting an eBay success product paying $30 in bounty offer your customers a book about eBay from Amazon that you can get for $10. Test different bonuses to see which ones increase customer pull and conversions rates. With a little effort your "exclusive" offers will be drawing enough business from your competition to increase your bottom line despite the extra cost of incentives.

So there it is. Your creativity and niche knowledge will allow to go forth and dominate niche after niche. Be sure to keep up on the affiliate programs available allowing you to incentivize some or all of your offers. Go out and slam the market. Live your dreams.

Grow Your Wealth With Your Own Online Piggy Banks

By: Brandon Hong

How many of you recall having your own piggy bank when you were a child? Even up till today, piggy banks are still a norm among the young, especially among children. Parents use them as a teaching tool to teach children about money and savings.

With the traditional piggy bank which comes in many shapes & designs, one will need to deposit some money into it until it becomes full. After that, the amount is usually taken out to be invested and to grow it further.

In other words, there is a time delay factor before your piggy bank becomes 'full'. The rate at which you can fill up the piggy bank will depend on how much and how fast you can put money into the said piggy bank.

This means it will take longer for you to grow your wealth.

The good news and amazing thing is that with the Internet, you can fast forward and overcome the time factor when it comes to growing your wealth.

The Internet makes it easy for anyone who wishes to opearate an online business. There are many proven online business models such as affiliate marketing and Google adsense. There are real life stories of entrepreneurs, publishers and business owners who are making a full-time income from Google adsense and affiliate marketing.

The online piggy bank model that I am referring to is actually a hybrid of affiliate marketing and Google Adsense, which combines the best of both worlds.

With Google Adsense, you will get paid for every advertisement that the user clicks. For the affiliate programs, you will get paid if the person whom you refer makes a purchase. The amount of commission will depend on the vendor itself.

Imagine if you can set up multiples of such sites. Each of these site in essence is your very own piggy bank, helping you to make money on complete autopilot and to grow your wealth faster.

As mentioned, the Internet is an amazing and fantastic tool, one of the best inventions of mankind.

The good news is you can easily create your own online piggy banks using the following steps:

a) Choose a niche topic which is of interest to people, normally things or hobbies that people do in the real world like fishing, photography, wedding etc.

b) Create a series of articles on the topic you've chosen

c) Sign up with Google adsense and merchants that offer affiliate programs like Clickbank, Amazon etc

d) Insert your Google adsense id and your affiliate id into the articles you've written

e) Register a domain name and upload the articles

f) Drive some traffic to these sites through blogs, forums and so on.

All it takes on your part is just the time to locate a topic and source or write the articles, then upload it. Fortunately for you there is a also a way to automate the tasks of researching the topic and writing the articles.

Learn How to Become a Super Affiliate

By: Cheow Yu Yuan
There are about more than 38 million people who have put up their very first websites online this year 2007 alone. Most of those sites will be their own affiliate programs for people to participate in so as to boost their sales volume.

Therefore, web hosting and domain registration businesses are in demand. This is a great opportunity to become a web hosting affiliate and reseller. There will be hundreds of web hosting and programs for you to promote.

So how does one become a successful affiliate in the web hosting marketing market?

If you think about it, everyone who needs to put up a website on the Internet needs a web hosting company to host it for them. As of now, there is really no leading hosting company so most people choose hosts based from recommendations.

The most important service that a good web hosting must have is the live support. When there is a technical problem, you will not want your customers who have bought the hosting plan through your affiliate link to complain about lack of support.

Competitive price and web storage can also give a particular web hosting an edge over the other web hosting company. One good example is Godaddy. Godaddy offers very competitive price, which I think that no other web hosting company can beat it. The support from Godaddy is also good, and this proves to be a good web hosting affiliate that you can consider.

If you are satisfied with the your current web hosting company, one of the thing that you can do to promote it is to place a small "small "powered by" or "hosted by" link at the bottom of your page and you are already in an affiliate business.

Why choose paying for your web hosting when you do not have to? Try to get paid by letting people know you like your web host.

There are a lot of niche markets out there just waiting for the right affiliate to penetrate to them and make that passive dollars dream come true.

Web hosting is just one affiliate market you can try out and make some good and continuous passive income out of it. Just remember to be successful in affiliate marketing; you will need persistence, patience, and effort.

Nobody has invented the perfect affiliate market yet, but you can also make it big in this kind of market. It is just knowing your kind of market and making the earnings there.

10 Reasons You Failed at Affiliate Marketing

By: Daniel Taylor
These are 10 things you should avoid when dealing with affiliate marketing. If you have found that you have been unsuccessful being an affiliate one or more of these 10 common mistakes may be the reason.

1. Get rich quick syndrome - If you are like I was when I first started I got into affiliate marketing thinking I can advertise a few links and the profits will start rolling in. Not only did I find this wasn't true, I found myself actually losing money with advertising programs such as Google Adwords.

2. Inaccurate keyword research - Many times I find people jump into PPC advertising without knowing how to accurately target the most effective keywords. This can cost you big if you're getting lots of clicks that aren't converting into sales because they are outside of your target market. Before starting every campaign I suggest running test ad's to accurately define your target market.

3. Lack of persistence - If at first you don't succeed, try again. That saying was made for affiliate marketing. The first time around you may lose a few dollars promoting a product or program. You have to learn to not quit when you're down. When first starting out it is very common to lose money before you start earning profits. My first month in affiliate marketing I lost around $300 with Google Adwords.

4. Not Analyzing Stats - Analyzing you're stats is very important when it comes to affiliate marketing. You have to know what works and what doesn't. Checking which advertisement produces the highest conversion rate is often times overlooked by new affiliate marketers. If you are running 2 ads and 1 of them is converting at 20% and the other is not converting at all, it would be in your best interest to stop the non converting campaign. How would you know this if you are not analyzing your stats?

5. Promoting the wrong product - I guess this would be an obvious one. If you just aren't having success with marketing a product, it may be the product itself. It could be a bad pitch page or a sub par product. If you have tried everything and you still aren't having success with a particular product it may be time to pack it up and move on to the next product.

6. You aren't pre-selling - A while back when I first started I remember throwing affiliate links in Google Adwords. This was never effective. Not to mention Google has since banned this type of promoting. I suggest registering a domain and enticing people with a short sales page to buy the product. Your sales page could be just a positive review about how the product has helped you.

7. Promoting too many products - The saying "less is more" definitely applies to successful affiliate marketing. I use to believe the more products I promoted the higher chance I had of making a sale. The problem is your being stretched to thin, usually resulting in not being able to provide the required focus on a particular product. You want to be able to analyze your stats and focus on promoting one product more effectively.

8. Quit promoting get rich quick schemes - I hate them so I had to add this to the list. Many people are catching on to these worthless schemes. They are nothing more than useless information that people buy in hopes of pursuing their dream of financial freedom. Please if you are promoting that garbage please stop, and try promoting a useful product.

9. Not trying before you promote - How can you entice someone else to buy a product that you have not tried yourself. 9 times out of 10 if you find the product to be junk, other customers will also. It's important to run tests to accurately review all aspects of the product. You want to avoid having your sales page sound like a regurgitation of their sales page.

10. Promoting niches with too many affiliates - Competing with other affiliates can never be avoided. The key is minimizing the competition by promoting products that don't already have too many affiliates. This is good because generally certain keywords may have lower bids for the top spot in less populated niches. The higher the bid on a keyword the lower profit you make from each sale.

Blogging for Website Traffic

By: Michael Copper
Do you own a website? If so, you are aware of the constant struggle that webmasters have trying to get more traffic to their site. There are many methods of doing so, but one very effective way to get more traffic to your site is through a blog. Blogs automatically draw high rates of traffic and are indexed frequently by search engines, making them very popular among webmasters as traffic generators.

Any website can benefit from a blog. You don't necessarily have to even host your own blog, although many website hosts allow you to add a blog to your regular site. You can also start a business blog on Wordpress.com or Blogger. These are both free services that allow you get started easily and quickly even if you are a complete beginner in the blog world.

Your blog should relate to your website topic, so if you have a website that sells cat food, then your blog should be about cats. This blog would provide high quality information and posts on anything to do with cats, preferably updated at least three or four times a week, although daily blogs draw more traffic.

Even if you aren't able to post that much information about cats, you can find free articles and even buy content to add to your blog. The nice thing about blogs is that they don't have to be massive articles, you can get away with posting just a couple hundred words on a topic, which makes it far easier to finish a daily post.

Since your blog is designed to send traffic to your website, you will want to include a link on your sidebar that goes to your site. You can also link to your site throughout your posts and include short reviews on your own products. This means that your blog visitors will then move on over to your website. If you have articles on your site, you can link specifically to these as well, offering more information if people just jump over to the website.

Next, you need to get your blog indexed by all major search engines. If you have regular postings, this will happen naturally. You will also want to register in several blog directories, including Technorati, so that your blog can be easily found by anyone doing a search on that topic. This will give you more traffic, plus links, all of which are useful for not only your blog, but also your website.

Website traffic can be elusive, but with a little effort, a blog can bring in loads of high quality, interested visitors. Blogs are highly overlooked as marketing tools and it would be a mistake to ignore the possibilities they offer.
